Project Description
Location: Danforth Semi detached
Surface Area: 2000 Square Feet
Year Completed: 2019
Duration: 5 months
This couple just recently had a second child and had NO room, NO closets, an old kitchen and these two horrible support posts on the main floor that made it impossible for any furniture to be properly placed. We discussed many options, keeping the budget in the forefront, but a two story rear addition was the only option .
Since we’ve been building and designing our own projects for many years, space planning has become one of our specialties. Even the smallest spaces can be utilized and put to good use. This planning was critical in this home. We re-trimmed and painted the three front bedrooms on the second floor and built a large master bedroom with a walk-in closet and master ensuite in the new rear addition.
The re-design of the main floor and elimination of the support posts, allowed for a large kitchen with an island, large kitchen pantry and a spacious living/dining area. the new nine foot double patio doors exit to an spacious outdoor patio with glass railings that our customers love.
Minimal work was completed in the basement since the budget did not allow however, we managed to eliminate that “old” basement feel. We stripped out all the old interior walls adding new insulation and drywall, built a new four piece washroom and new laundry room and renovated the old bedroom and recreation room.
